Dr. Leong specialises in treating cancers and blood disorders. He has a keen interest in breast cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, lymphomas and leukaemias

Dr. Leong, a Penangite, graduated from the University of Malaya in 1988 and obtained his postgraduate specialist qualifications (MRCP) from United Kingdom in 1991. He was then appointed as a Lecturer in General Medicine and Haematology in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. Dr. Leong continued his training in the U.K. and Australia. He obtained his Diploma in Haematology in 1997, subsequently became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) in 1999 and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncologists and American Society of Haematology. He is a member of the Malaysian Oncological Society and the Malaysian Society of Haematology.

Dr. Leong joined Gleneagles Penang in 1998 and practises as a Haemato-Oncologist and Physician. He is involved in research work and continues to publish in local and international journals. He is particularly interested in clinical research with new medications, as this may bring tremendous benefits to patients. He pioneered bone marrow / stem cell transplantation at Gleneagles Penang in 2004.

In his spare time, Dr. Leong writes and have written a science and medical-based novel entitled ‘Regenesis: New Beginnings’ on alternative energy and cancer treatment.
