Mr. Mohana is actively involved in the management of difficult diabetic foot wounds and has worked closely with many medical officers in public health clinics in the state of Penang to help provide better wound management and care.

Foot and ankle reconstructive surgery

Mr. Mohana Rao is one of the pioneer Foot and Ankle surgeons in the country. He is a founding member of the Malaysian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (MOFAS) as well as a life member of the Indian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.

Mr. Mohana completed his medical degree in Karachi at Dow Medical College as a JPA scholar. He worked as a medical officer in Kelantan and Sabah. He then ventured into orthopaedics, his passions, and completed the Masters degree at University Science Malaysia (USM) in 2006. Upon completion of his studies, he worked in Penang as an orthopaedic surgeon. He has a special interest in the budding sub-specialty of foot and ankle surgery and attained his training and fellowship in this field in 2009 at the Singapore General Hospital Institute of Higher Learning.

Mr. Mohana successfully set up the Foot and Ankle Unit in Penang Hospital where he pioneered foot and ankle reconstructive surgery.
