We are incredibly proud to share that Gleneagles Hospital Penang is the FIRST private hospital in Malaysia to successfully perform the Pulmonary Embolism thrombectomy procedure using the FlowTriever System!

This procedure was expertly carried out by our skilled Cardiologists/Interventional Cardiologists, Dr. Neoh Eu Rick and Dr. Rajesh Shah. It was a resounding success, and the patient is already well on the road to recovery, being discharged within one week! 🙌💙

Pulmonary embolism is a prevalent life threatening condition and in severe cases, carries a very high mortality rate. It happens when blood clots block the arteries in the lungs, obstructing blood flow and leading to impaired oxygenation. Typically, these blood clots originate in the legs and can travel to the lungs, posing a major threat to a patient’s health.
