My wife suffers from random pains at all times; overnight the pain interferes with the quality of her sleep.
Typical morning reports from her are "excruciatingly sharp pain left ear ongoing and right outer thigh ongoing. Very sharp pain right upper arm ongoing on off. Usual stiff fingers and leg discomfort." or
"Slept very poorly. Usual pains. Excruciatingly sharp pains in both outer thighs ongoing. Right eye sore." and last night " I had a worsening pain in throat ongoing and pain in chest. Had usual overnight pains. Pain in left knee".
She was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2017, and has had many failed therpies for that condition; more recently, for the pain and poor sleep, we have consulted a visiting neurologist, who suggested we consult a pain specialist. None such are in Miri; and we have not had any response from Gleneagles KK Anesthesiology & pain department, when we asked if a teleconsult could be arranged.
My wife is virtually housebound, and is reluctant to travel, especially if the answer is likely to be "we can't help you".
She might agree to travel if there was a hope offered, during a teleconsult.
Hi Cardiology Doctors,
I have a patient here:
Male
74 y.o
Pulmonary hydrops
His heart is weakening.
Having short of breathing
Edema Feet
High blood pressure
My father has been experiencing intermittent tooth pain, although his teeth appear to be healthy. Additionally, he occasionally has swelling in his feet. Last month, due to the frequent swelling in his feet, we consulted a government doctor who diagnosed my father with heart weakness. My father then started taking medication and received two to three heart-strengthening injections (one per week).
Recently, he has developed a severe cough, runny nose (not excessive), shortness of breath, and difficulty sleeping. He can only sleep while sitting up. A doctor diagnosed him with pulmonary edema and advised him to limit his water intake to 1 liter per day and reduce his food intake. At home, my father is increasingly uncomfortable; he can't lie down because of the severe shortness of breath. He can only find relief by sitting up straight, even when sleeping. The attending doctor is currently abroad, so we sought another doctor's help in Kuching.
In Kuching, at Pusat Jantung Hospital Umum Sarawak, a cardiac examination was performed, and the doctor stated that there were no issues with his heart. However, they did not refer him to a cardiologist.
We also consulted a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner and a cardiologist who prescribed the following medications:
Lanoxin 250mg (prescribed by TCM)
Spironolactone 25mg
Forxiga 10mg
Provinace 4mg (for hypertension)
Hovasc 5mg
Cough syrup 10ml
Simvor 40 (RANBAXY) Simvastatin USP 40mg (for cholesterol)
Rasitol (Furosemide 40mg) (diuretic)
Glumet DC (for diabetes)
Warfarin and another anticoagulant for blood thinning
Given his complex medical history and current symptoms, we seek your expertise to provide a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan. Your guidance on managing his condition would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Greetings,
I need help to find a perfect and suitable specialist for my prolonged condition. Already tried orthopedist and neurologist (with epidural steroid injection treatment) in the past and at some point even try my luck with internist but to no avail. My current state won't let me comfortably doing my desk job any longer. Getting slight stinging pain after sitting for more than 30 minutes. What sort of treatment would be the best for my condition? any expert advice and recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
