Swollen and Pain after Anti Cellulite Procedure
Hi Doc, I’d like to ask for your advice — after getting an anti-cellulite injection procedure on my back thigh at a beauty clinic, one of the injection spots became bruised and painful. Normally, the pain and bruising go away within 3 days, but this time it’s been a week and the area gets swollen, red (shaped like an island), and very painful to touch. Even sitting and walking is painful and uncomfortable. What should I do, and where should I get it checked?

Answer:

Dear Sir/Madam,

We extend our sincere gratitude for choosing Gleneagles Hospital Malaysia for your healthcare requirements.

Based on your description—persistent bruising and pain lasting beyond the usual 3 days, along with swelling, redness shaped like an island, and significant discomfort even during sitting and walking—it is important that you seek immediate medical attention. These symptoms may indicate an infection or other complication that requires prompt evaluation.

We recommend you consult with our Dermatology Department, where our specialists are experienced in managing skin-related complications following cosmetic procedures. A thorough clinical examination will help us determine the appropriate treatment to ensure your safety and comfort.
