Perindopril Side Effect
Hello. I would like to ask a question. I am 32 years old diagnosed recently with HPT. I was prescribed the Perindopril last week. This is the sixth day of me taking the medication. However, I feel lightheaded, dizzy, neck stiffness and back pain. There is a tingling sensation at the back of my head but it is on and off. Is this the side effect of perindopril? Will it go away? Thank you.

Answer:

Hello,

Perindropril itself doesn't cause the symptoms directly but if the blood pressure drops too much then those symptoms are possible. Best to check the blood pressure during the symptoms - if too low then the dose may need to be adjusted. If the bp is normal at that time then maybe it is a one-off reaction and the medication may be switched by your doctor to a different type.
