Perimenopause
Hi, I’m 45 y.o and I believe I’m experiencing perimenopause since I’m 38. Although the symptoms throughout the years are overall mild & manageable without any medication, I have deep concerns on my vaginal dryness issues. Who should I talk to, what should I do first, how & where? Please advise. Thank you in advance!

Answer:

Dear Madam,

We extend our sincere gratitude for choosing Gleneagles Hospital Malaysia for your healthcare requirements.

Thank you for reaching out to us and for sharing your health concerns so openly. We understand that navigating perimenopause can bring about many changes, and it’s completely normal to have questions and seek guidance—especially regarding vaginal dryness, which is a common symptom during this phase.

We would recommend that you consult with a gynecologist, who specializes in women’s health and is well-equipped to provide an accurate assessment of your symptoms. A gynecologist will be able to discuss treatment options tailored to your specific needs, which may include non-hormonal or hormonal therapies, lifestyle adjustments, or local treatments that help manage vaginal dryness effectively.

Thank you.
