Pain at lower back area above kidney
Dear Dr,

I have been experiencing some mild pain (on and off) at my lower back area (above kidney). Furthermore for more than one month, my urine is mixed with bubbles with pale yellowish in colour. My uric acid is also above the normal level. Frequently, need to see doctors in clinic for gout. Kindly advice me what should I do?

Answer:

Thank you for reaching out to Gleneagles Hospitals. I'm sorry to hear about your symptoms. It sounds like you're experiencing a combination of symptoms that warrant further investigation. Given the mild pain in your lower back area and the presence of bubbles in your urine, it's important to consider the possibility of kidney stones. I would recommend consulting with a urologist who can conduct thorough examinations, including blood and urine tests, as well as imaging studies to assess the condition of your kidneys.

Additionally, your elevated uric acid levels and history of gout suggest a potential link between gout and kidney stone formation. It would be beneficial for you to also seek guidance from a rheumatologist or myself to ensure proper management of your gout.

Please know that addressing these concerns promptly can help prevent further complications and improve your overall well-being. I'm here to support you through this process and to assist in coordinating your care with the appropriate specialists.
