At the Emergency Department, the dedicated team of doctors and nurses work around the clock to meet all medical and surgical emergencies.
The Emergency Department is equipped with:

- Diagnostic imaging services (e.g., MRI, CT scan, X-ray, Fluoroscopy Suite)

Triage & Waiting Time
Patients are categorized based on the severity of their emergency and then routed to the proper treatment locations using the triage system.
A triage is attended by an emergency medical officer, as well as a paramedic and a staff nurse who is trained in triaging emergency cases.
Red Zone (CRITICAL) SEEN IMMEDIATELY
- Cardiac Arrest
- Unresponsive Trauma
- Severe bradycardia with signs of hypoperfusion
- Trauma requiring immediate fluid resuscitation
- Chest pain
- Unresponsive patients
- Hypoglycaemia/Hyperglycaemia
- Severe crush injury to the limb
- Extensive burns
- Near drowning
- Firearms wound to head and neck
- Hypertension (SBP < 90mmHg) with signs of hypoperfusion
- Hypertension (SBP >200mmHg) with signs of altered mental status
Yellow Zone (SEMI-CRITICAL) SEEN WITHIN 15 MINUTES
- Alert conscious level but not comatose
- Head injury GCS>13/15
- Long bone of lower limbs and pelvic fracture
- Active chest pain, suspicious coronary syndrome and stable
- Chest pain, visceral and not associated with other symptoms immunocompromised (SLE, Chemotherapy) with a fever
- Poisoning or drug overdose
- Open fracture of upper limb
- Spina injury
- Eye injury with loss or vision impairment
- Dislocation of major joint
- Limb amputation
- Vascular injury
- Burns with no facial injury
- Serve pain: 6-10/10
- Hyperventilation and unstable to maintain posture
- Arrhythmias heart rate: <60bpm>150bpm
- Milk to moderate dyspnea with saturation >95% or 40 bpm
- Hypertension (SBP>200mmhg @ systolic<120mmHg with systemic symptoms or neurological deficit)
- Elevated blood sugar with neurological or vision impairment
Green Zone (NON-CRITICAL) SEEN WITHIN 90 MINUTES
- Green 1 - Seen Within 30 Minutes
- Children below 2 years and Senior Citizens above 65 years
- Chest pain-no risk factor and not associated with other symptoms. Normal ECG
- Abuse/Neglect/Assault
- Elevated blood sugar without any major symptoms
- Mild asthma
- Acute urinary retention
- Closed fracture of upper limb/ankle with major angulations
- Dislocation of small joints
- Vomiting and/or Diarrhoea with dehydration
- GREEN 2 - Seen within 60 minutes
- Non aggresive psychiatric patients
- Foreign body
- Minor allergy
- Minor trauma
- Vomiting and diarrhea with no dehydration
- Lumps and Bumps
- Chronic abdominal Pain
- Ear ache
- Nail prick
- Acute infective eye conditions
- Fever >38℃(Adult)(children 2-12 of age)
- Upper respiratory Tract Infection
- Skin condition
- Chronic trauma injuries
- Wound dressing and opening stitches (STO)
- Change of urinary catheter and naso-gastric tube
GREEN 3 - Seen within 60 minutes
