Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur's Pharmacy Department provides comprehensive pharmaceutical services to meet the demands of all our patients. The department itself consists of Inpatient Pharmacy, Outpatient Pharmacy, Satellite Pharmacy at the Accident and Emergency Department (A&E), Oncology Pharmacy and Retail Pharmacy.
Our Pharmacy Department strives to ensure the optimisation of pharmaceutical care to all our patients as well as the excellence in quality through our products and qualified, well-trained staff of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants.
Our Inpatient Pharmacy supplies medication to the hospital’s inpatients as well as the wards. Pharmacy personnel check the patients’ prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness of treatment at the point of dispensing as well as before the administration of medications. Upon discharge, patients are counselled on their discharged medications before leaving the hospital.
Our Outpatient Pharmacy is located next to the Retail Pharmacy on the ground floor of the Medical Office Building (MOB). Prescriptions from internal doctors are accepted here. A wide range of medications are available at the Outpatient Pharmacy including limited and controlled medications as well as customised preparations.
Our Oncology Pharmacy unit is located inside the Oncology unit. It is staffed by personnel trained in chemotherapy drug reconstitution techniques. This ensures patients’ chemotherapy drugs are prepared correctly and are safe to use by both the patients and the nurses administering the oncology treatment.
Our Retail Pharmacy, located at Level 1, Block B, carries a wide range of products including personal care, toiletries, skin and healthcare, cosmetics, health education books, baby products, health aids as well as convenience products.
