Welcome to the Haemodialysis Unit at Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur. We are committed to providing high-quality dialysis care while supporting your overall well-being. Our dedicated team ensures that your treatment plan is tailored to your individual needs and lifestyle. We encourage you to actively engage in understanding your dialysis treatment, medications, and test results. You are not alone—our healthcare professionals are here to support you every step of the way.

Haemodialysis

Haemodialysis is a life-saving treatment for individuals with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD). The procedure helps remove excess fluid, toxins, and waste products from the bloodstream when the kidneys can no longer function effectively.

The frequency of your dialysis sessions will be determined by your doctor and healthcare team, based on your medical condition. Most patients require haemodialysis three times a week, with each session lasting approximately four to five hours.

We also offer ONLINE Haemodiafiltration (ONLINE HDF), an advanced haemodialysis treatment that enhances patient outcomes by improving toxin removal, reducing inflammation, and enhancing overall treatment experience.

Important Note for New Patients

For your first three to six dialysis sessions, it is recommended that you arrange for someone to drive you home after treatment. Some patients experience temporary dizziness, fatigue, or low blood pressure, which may affect their ability to drive safely. Once your body adjusts to the treatment, you may be able to drive independently.
