Dr Firdaus graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2002 and admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) at Edinburgh, United Kingdom in 2012 after serving the Ministry of Health in several government hospitals. In 2019, he completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at The Jamescook University Hospital at Middlesbrough, UK under Ministry of Health Malaysia.

He is currently practising in Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor Bahru and setting up the Gastroenterology & Hepatology Department for the state of Johor.
