Psychology
Psychologists diagnose and treat the normal and abnormal mental states, perceptual, cognitive, emotional, and social processes, and behaviour by experimenting with, and observing, interpreting, and recording how individuals relate to one another and to
their environments.
Trained psychologists usually conduct thorough research analysis and personality assessment before treating patients through a wide variety of non-pharmacological psychotherapies such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy
(DBT), psychodynamic/ psychoanalytic therapy, interpersonal therapy (IPT), gestalt therapy, compassion focused therapy (CFT) and exposure response prevention therapy to name a few.
Our Approach
Here at Gleneagles Hospitals, we strive for a complete and integrated approach when it comes to psychological well-being and care. Because an individual's psychological health can be influenced by a wide variety of factors such as genes, environment, relationships and life choices, we uphold a philosophy that every patient is unique.
We plan treatments through a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach, ensuring that each patient has their own set journey, allowing them to narrate the history of their mental health so that we can work together with them to ensure that they strike a balance of physical, mental, and emotional wellness.
Psychological / Psychometric Assessments
Our assessments are specifically designed to help all our patients reach a full understanding of their current condition and how to rise above it. We tailor our evaluations based on particular questions in order to help create a profile of required developmental areas. We cater to different age groups starting from early intervention (child), adolescent, adult, & geriatric.
This results in an assessment that can be used to help our patients optimise their strengths and address their weaknesses in various areas of their life.
