Gleneagles Kota Kinabalu organised a dance gathering combined with a health dialogue as part of its orthopaedic & sports and spine health campaign on 17 August at Central Walk, Riverson. Themed “Back in Action: What Moves You, Moves Us”, the event aims to create awareness among the public on preventing orthopaedic injuries or conditions that will disrupt the quality of their everyday life and deter them from enjoying their hobbies such as dancing. It is also to provide advice on when to seek medical attention should they encounter such injuries. Four specialists were featured during the health dialogue. They were Dr Chuah Uei Chyi (Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon & Pain Management Specialist), Dr Dharmalingam Muthiah (Orthopaedic, Arthroscopic Sports & Joint Reconstructive Surgeon), Dr Chidambaram Sambandam (Orthopaedic Surgeon) and Dr Tan Wei Chean (Endoscopic Spine Surgeon, Neurosurgeon & Pain Specialist). The specialists discussed and shared tips on taking good care of our bones and joints, and ways to avoid injuries when dancing. YB Ginger Phoong Jin Zhe, Minister of Youth and Sports Sabah, officiated the event.
