Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur began to promote bariatric surgery in 2016. Since then, the number of bariatric surgeries performed at the hospital has continued to increase. Our experienced team of bariatric surgeons have now performed more than 1,500 procedures in Malaysia.

At the same time, the team has collaborated with prominent industrial players that have aided the development of the hospital’s bariatric and metabolic surgical treatment unit.

“During the development of our bariatric unit, we managed to incorporate a strong multidisciplinary team that includes endocrinologists, cardiologists, dieticians, physiotherapists, and nurses.”

“Our strong marketing team has also contributed significantly by developing awareness and interest among local and international patients. The Gleneagles bariatric and metabolic surgical treatment unit officially opened in the early second half of 2019,” said Hoo.
